As an HR Officer, you will be responsible for implementing HR strategies, systems, and processes that support talent development, performance management, and employee relations. You will work closely with department managers to understand workforce needs, enhance employee skills through training, and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.
This role demands a proactive professional who combines strong interpersonal skills with attention to detail, confidentiality, and a passion for people and organizational growth.Key Responsibilities1. Training & Development
Collaborate with line managers to identify performance expectations and specific training needs.
Analyze data from performance reviews and competency assessments to shape training strategies.
Deliver engaging training sessions across departments, adapting methods to diverse learning styles.
Evaluate training effectiveness and recommend improvements for maximum impact.
Stay informed on emerging HR training trends, digital learning tools, and best practices.
2. HR Systems & Processes
Support the development and implementation of HR initiatives, systems, and policies.
Create and execute effective onboarding programs for new employees.
Maintain accurate employee records (attendance, personal data, leave, etc.) in line with company policy and legal standards.
Contribute to continuous improvement of HR procedures and document management.
3. Performance & Employee Relations
Assist in performance management processes including goal setting, reviews, and feedback cycles.
Support line managers in managing disciplinary, grievance, and conflict resolution cases.
Ensure employment practices and working conditions comply with labor laws and internal regulations.
Promote a positive, inclusive, and performance-driven workplace culture.
Skills & Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Management, Business Administration, or related field.
3–5 years of relevant HR experience, preferably in a corporate or fast-paced environment.
Strong knowledge of Ethiopian labor law and HR best practices.
Proven experience in training facilitation and performance management.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
Proficiency in HR software and Microsoft Office applications.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving abilities.
High level of integrity, confidentiality, and emotional intelligence.
